About Us

Who we are, and why we paddle

We started Up The Creek because the rivers that made Melbourne - and the people living beside them - were drifting apart. Our answer is simple: get people on the water, guided by people who know and love it. Every paddle funds and performs river care, so the experience that restores you also restores the Birrarung.

In a time marked by disconnection - from self, community, and the natural world - Up the Creek offers a vital platform for reconnection and regeneration. We recognise that the health and well-being of individuals, communities and the environment are deeply interwoven. Research consistently shows that nurturing a relationship with nature not only supports individual and collective well-being but also contributes to positive environmental outcomes, through developing reciprocal relationships with the natural world.
