Embark on a sunset adventure on the Birrarung this summer, paddling under the grey-headed flying fox colony.
Where: Fairfield Boathouse car park before we journey onto Birrarung
When: Every Thursday, 6pm - 8pm
Come for a solo adventure or bring your lover, friend, mum, child!
Slip away from the northern roads of the city and into a space shaped by the rhythms of the more-than-human world. Yarra Bend Park — Melbourne’s largest area of natural bushland — is a sanctuary for diverse birdlife, marsupials, reptiles, and mammals and a large colony of Grey-headed Flying-foxes, with numbers ranging from 10,000 to 30,000 throughout the year. Come and experience them as they get ready to take flight.
Cost:
Adult: $99
Student / Concession / VIT registered teacher: $50
Not at all, paddling guidance will be provided at the start and throughout our journey.

Birds, turtles, and platypus are also a possibility!
Wear clothing appropriate to the weather (if it's a cool night, come prepared with warmer clothes and rainproof gear). Cotton and merino is always a good idea.
Appropriate shoes include sneakers, sandals, or other water-based shoes.
If the sun is still out, there can be quite a glare on the water - you might like to bring sunnies, a hat, and wear reef-safe sunscreen.
This trip is for everyone. Our task is to slow down and connect with self, other, and Birrarung (Yarra River).
