Reimagining Birrarung - embark on a journey with Birrarung (Yarra River) and engage with the Burndap Birrarung Burndap Umarkoo (woi wurrung)- What's good for the Yarra is good for all (Yarra River Strategic Plan) 2022- 2032.
Further upstream from the city and Warrandyte, Mount Lofty and Bob’s Rocks sit quietly beneath the gaze of the Yarra Valley hills. Kangaroos move through the landscape, and the air holds a sense of stillness. Whether paddling along the river or hiking to the summit of Mount Lofty, this place invites adventure, reflection, and collaboration— with one another and with the more-than-human world.
This immersive experience will take you on a journey along the Birrarung, engaging with the river as a living system. We aim to leave it better than we found it and foster a shared responsibility for its future.
This half day adventure includes nutritious snacks provided by our partner Seed to Serve.
This is a sacred place for Wurundjeri women. We invite you to tread with care and come with respect for the lands, waters, and stories that live here.

Up the Creek fosters collaborations with the more-than-human-world, as well as each other and ourselves. We aim to create space for this exploration. Although we have influence - these forces (wind speed, a cute family of ducks to look at, traffic) are sometimes beyond our control. Part of the journey is surrendering to this and coming to terms with our human selves.
Come with curiosity, a readiness to collaborate and an open mind.
