Where the Birrarung/ Yarra meets the City of Melbourne (Naarm/ Narrm) on Wurundjeri and Bunurong/ Boon Wurrung Country of the Kulin nation. Approximately four kilometres from the city centre lies Herring Island — a unique man-made island, best known for its sculpture park. Today, it thrives as a pocket of regenerated ecosystem, home to Indigenous forest and native grasslands. River Red Gums, Silver Wattles, Spear Grass, and Everlasting Daisies flourish here, creating habitat for local wildlife including Honeyeaters, Willie wagtails, and Kookaburras.
