United Nations Educational Theory

We are committed to fostering connection and collaboration with the more-than-human world. We are guided by principles that recognise the wisdom, agency, and interconnectedness of all living beings. By grappling with the unknown, cultivating curiosity and deep listening, and practicing reciprocity and respect, we aim to create transformative outdoor education experiences that honor the diversity and complexity of the natural world.

Curiosity and Deep Listening

By nurturing a sense of wonder, inquiry, and receptiveness to the natural world, we open ourselves to new insights and understandings.

Navigating with Forces Beyond Our Control

We understand that the natural world is characterized by forces beyond our control. We embrace the inherent unpredictability and dynamism of nature, recognising that it presents both challenges and opportunities for growth.

Embracing the Unknown

We encourage an exploration of the unknown, embracing the mysteries and wonders that nature presents. We create opportunities for participants to step outside their comfort zones, fostering personal growth, self-discovery, and a sense of adventure. Participants gain skills needed to navigate and adapt to new environments, challenges, and our collective future. Anything worthwhile comes from this space.

Participant/ Student led

Our programs cultivate individual agency and encourage active participation in one's own learning journey. We foreground participants' perspectives, curiosities, and experiences. We encourage persistence through challenges, delve into the complexities, and remain engaged with the “hard stuff” that fosters growth and learning.

The whole of life is coming to terms with yourself and the natural world. Why are you here? How do you fit in? What is it all about?
